How to choose software for your shop

Choosing does not start with comparing prices. First you write down how your shop actually works — and twenty systems narrow to three. Below are those questions, the costs beyond the subscription, and the categories of solution sold in Uzbekistan. BuySale wrote this page, so the cases where we are the wrong choice are set out separately too.

The short answer

There is no single program that fits every shop, and there cannot be. A bakery and a jewellery shop work differently, and so do one till and ten branches. So the question “which is best” has no answer — “which fits my shop” does.

  • If the fiscal receipt must come out of the program itself, look for an online or virtual till, not bookkeeping software. These are two different products.
  • If you need several branches in one report, take a system that states this openly on its pricing page.
  • Where the connection drops, take an app that works offline (BuySale’s Android and Windows apps run without internet for up to 7 days; the browser version needs internet).
  • If you would rather not buy a computer, a scanner and a printer, look at apps that run on a phone.
  • The subscription is half the cost. Hardware, setup, training and the first entry of your product list all take money and time.

And last: one day of real selling inside a program beats ten pages of comparison. That is what the free trial is for.

Eight questions to ask yourself before choosing

Write your answers on one sheet and check every system against it. Keep that sheet in front of you when you talk to a salesperson too.

01

Must the fiscal receipt come from the program itself?

This is the first and most expensive question, because the answer splits the market in two. A fiscal receipt comes from an online till or a virtual till; bookkeeping software keeps stock, profit and customer credit. In many shops the two sit side by side. Ask the tax office or your accountant how the fiscal receipt rules apply to your shop.

02

Do you sell by weight?

If you sell by weight, the scale and the software must understand each other: the scale prints a label and the software reads the weight out of it. That needs the scale to print in the in-store format and every product to carry a scale number (PLU). Test this on your own scale during the trial, not on a marketing page.

03

How many points of sale do you have?

A second shop changes both the price and the reporting. Look for the words “per point of sale” on the pricing page: as of 18.09.2026 BILLZ lists 179,000 UZS per extra point, Optimo 100,000 UZS and UMAG 92,000 UZS, while the mDokon plan is counted per point of sale. A separate question is seeing all branches in one report — not every system does that.

04

Do you keep customer credit?

In a neighbourhood shop the credit ledger is often where most of the money sits. If that is you, check who the debt is tracked against, whether partial payments are recorded and whether overdue debts come out as a list. Ask explicitly whether the program sends the reminder to the customer itself or only prepares the list — those are not the same thing.

05

How well does your internet work?

Most cloud systems need the internet. Where the line drops you want a system that states an offline mode openly. BuySale’s Android and Windows apps work offline for up to 7 days (sales are queued and sent when the line returns); the browser version needs internet. Among others, as of 18.09.2026 Paloma365 lists up to two weeks offline, RAOS local storage offline with a sync when the connection returns, and iDokon says it also works offline. If it is not written down, do not assume it — ask.

06

Who enters the data, and how many products are there?

Software is abandoned less often over price than over a half-empty catalogue. Entering a thousand items the first time takes days, and it is usually the owner who does it. So ask: how is a product added, is there a ready-made catalogue, is there an import from Excel, is there a limit on the number of products. Free plans usually run out exactly here.

07

What should the seller not see?

If you employ a seller, who did what and who sees what becomes its own question. Seeing cost price, giving discounts, selling on credit and taking returns should be independent permissions. “You can add employees” is not an answer to this question.

08

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Almost nobody asks this, and later regrets it. Establish two things: whether your data is deleted the day the subscription ends or stays, and whether you can export the product list and sales history yourself. Without an export, moving to another system a year later becomes close to impossible.

What the real cost is made of

The figure in the plan is only the first line. What surprises owners is usually everything else in the first invoice.

Subscription

A monthly or daily fee. Annual payment may come with a discount, but the money leaves up front. Our billing is daily: one day’s price comes off the balance each day, and the cheapest plan is 6 630 UZS a day (198 900 UZS for 30 days).

Points, tills and users

This is the add-on most often missing next to the plan. As of 18.09.2026 BILLZ lists 179,000 UZS per extra point of sale, Optimo 100,000 UZS, and UMAG 92,000 UZS per point plus 46,000 UZS per till. We charge nothing extra for staff, tills or product counts.

Hardware

A scanner, a receipt printer, a label printer, scales, a computer or a tablet. One-off, but a large sum. Where the phone camera scans, the scanner line disappears altogether; on a computer we also work with a USB scanner.

Installation, setup and training

This usually sits as its own line: as of 18.09.2026 UMAG lists a one-off setup and training fee of 795,000 UZS, and REGOS lists connecting the fiscal module as a separately paid service. Our setup fee is zero.

Entering your catalogue the first time

The cost that appears in no plan and hurts most is your own time. A thousand items will not go in during one day. So ask about the catalogue, barcodes and import in advance. We have no Excel or CSV import — items come from the catalogue, from scanning a code or from a photo of the label (moving from Excel or a notebook).

The cost of leaving

If in two years you want to move to another system, how do you take your data with you? Ask on day one, not in year three. With us stock exports to Excel, and if you stop paying the data is not deleted straight away — the old records stay open; only if the service stays stopped for 6 months with no sign-in or top-up does the public offer allow deletion, with 30 days’ warning. How a move works: switching from another program.

The figures for other systems were taken from their own sites as of 18.09.2026 and can change: BILLZ, Optimo, UMAG, REGOS. Our own prices are on the Pricing page, and the ten-system table is on the Comparison page.

What kinds of solution exist in Uzbekistan

The market falls into five groups. Once you know your group you can set ten options aside at once. Inside each group the order is alphabetical — this is not a ranking.

1. Fiscal tills: online and virtual tills

This group exists for the tax office: it creates a fiscal document and sends it to the fiscal data operator. It is not bookkeeping software and does not replace it — in many shops the two run side by side. Official information is on soliq.uz; we explain the difference on Do I need a cash register?.

2. Phone-first shop apps

The books live on a phone or tablet; no computer and no separate scanner. This group holds BuySale, mDokon (its site advertises a mobile app; we found the Play Market listing on Play itself) and Loyverse. Loyverse’s core POS is free, but its site says nothing about Uzbekistan, the som or the Uzbek tax system, so we could not confirm local fiscalisation. Play Market also carries MobilKassa, but we could not verify its official site or price from a primary source.

3. Software installed on a computer

Runs on a Windows machine in the shop, often alongside a cloud service. EasyTrade is a Windows desktop program with no published price. iDokon is a downloadable desktop app plus a web admin panel. JetPOS runs mainly on a computer, laptop or tablet. USU is Windows only. Hardware and installation costs are usually higher in this group.

4. Cloud POS and chain systems

Browser-based and built for branches. BILLZ, Hippo POS, MoySklad, Optimo, PosPoint, RAOS, REGOS, UMAG, YesPOS. Most of them advertise a tax integration on their site — but check each one yourself, as terms and prices move quickly.

5. Restaurant, wholesale and distribution systems

Paloma365 and Poster POS position themselves first of all for cafés and restaurants — both also list retail shops. Poster prices only in dollars, and Uzbek is not among its site languages. Smartup targets distribution companies with more than 50 staff.

What we did not check. Third-party round-ups also mention 1C:Roznitsa, Linko, Bito ERP, GBS.Market, Saby Retail and others — we did not open their official sites, so we write nothing about them here. As of 18.09.2026 the SellerPeak24 domain was in a redemption period, and CloudShop’s Uzbek domain and the Jowi domain did not respond. The round-ups themselves: MoySklad (25 solutions), BILLZ (20 programs), RAOS (POS systems list). They are written by competitors — keep that in mind while reading them, and while reading this page too.

Who publishes a price openly

Systems that publish a price on their own site. The second column is what the plan itself states: limits, free period and add-ons. Not a ranking — ordered from cheaper to dearer.

EasyTrade, JetPOS, OX System, SellerPeak24, Smartup and USU publish no open price, so they are not listed. Loyverse and Poster POS publish prices in dollars and CloudShop in roubles, with no Uzbekistan terms on their sites.

Where BuySale fits in this picture

In one sentence: for a shop run by its owner or one or two sellers, where the books are meant to live on a phone. Below, separately: what is there and what is not.

The “what if I stop paying” question has a specific answer too: a few days before the balance runs out a warning arrives in Telegram. At zero or negative balance new sales and goods-in are not recorded, but nothing is charged for those days and your data stays put — both the old records and the top-up screen remain open. There is one exception: if for 6 months after the service stops there is no top-up and no sign-in, the public offer allows the account to be deleted together with its data — you are warned in Telegram at least 30 days before, and signing in or topping up in that time cancels it. More on Pricing, Features and Comparison.

When BuySale is the wrong choice

This section is here on purpose. Better to choose someone else on day one than to take us and abandon it two months later.

If the fiscal receipt must come from the program

We issue no fiscal receipt and are not connected to the tax system. As of 18.09.2026 RAOS includes a Soliq.uz integration in every plan, YesPOS advertises a fiscal QR and OFD, mDokon tax fiscalisation, and UMAG fiscalisation inside its plan.

If you run a restaurant, café or fast food

We have no kitchen, tables, modifiers or recipes — we are built for retail. Paloma365 and Poster POS are positioned for exactly that segment.

If you need branches in one report

We have branches (one shared balance, stock transfers between branches, a total in the evening Telegram report), but no in-app report that puts all branches on one screen. The BILLZ Pro plan has no user or customer limits, and Optimo offers a separate Premium tier for 100+ points of sale.

If you sell marked goods

We do not work with Asl Belgisi marking: Data Matrix codes are not read. If that requirement applies to you, you need an online till or system that states marking support openly.

If the internet drops often

Our offline mode is only in the Android and Windows apps: for up to 7 days sales are queued and sent when the line returns; the browser version needs internet. As of 18.09.2026 Paloma365 advertises up to two weeks offline, RAOS local storage with a later sync, and iDokon offline operation.

Learn more →

If payment must run inside the program

We have no card terminal, QR payment or bank integration — the payment type is only marked. YesPOS advertises CLICK and PAYME, mDokon Click, Payme and Uzum.

If you need a free option

We have no permanently free plan, only a 7-day trial. MoySklad’s Free plan has no time limit (capped at 100 products, 100 counterparties and 100 documents), and Loyverse’s core POS is free too — though the Loyverse site says nothing about Uzbekistan or the som.

Learn more →

If you do wholesale and distribution

We are built for a retail shop: no field sales, agent visits or territory coverage. Smartup is positioned precisely for distribution companies with more than 50 staff.

If receipts must print instantly

We have no direct ESC/POS printer link — receipts and labels go through the print dialog. If you have a fast queue and need paper on every sale, test this during the trial.

Choosing in five steps

A week is enough. Stretch it longer and what usually grows is not the decision but the hesitation.

01

Describe your shop on one sheet

Answer the eight questions above: fiscal receipt, scales, number of points, credit, internet, product count, staff permissions, data export. That sheet decides everything afterwards.

02

Do not trial more than three

Once you know your group the list shortens by itself. A fourth and fifth system add no clarity — they just eat time and make you enter the catalogue twice.

03

Run the trial on a real trading day

Not a demo — your own goods, your barcodes, your scale and your seller. Test at the busiest hour: that is where software shows itself. Free periods on this market run from 5 to 30 days.

04

Ask about hidden costs in writing

Four questions: what installation and training cost, what a second shop and an extra till cost, whether the fiscal module is inside the price, and whether updates and support are billed separately. A written answer beats a phone call.

05

Check the exit route in advance

Try exporting your data while you are still in the trial. If there is no export, or you are told to “send a request”, treat that as a fact for your decision. Ask at the same time whether data is deleted once the subscription ends.

Questions about choosing

Which is the best shop software in Uzbekistan?

There is no such program. The answer depends on your shop: whether the fiscal receipt must come from the software, whether you sell by weight, how many points of sale you have, whether you keep customer credit, how your internet behaves and who will enter the catalogue. Those six answers cut twenty systems down to three or four, and only then do you look at price.

Does shop software replace a fiscal cash register?

No, not if the software is not connected to the tax system. A fiscal receipt comes from an online till or a virtual till, while bookkeeping software keeps stock, profit and customer credit. In many shops the two work side by side. BuySale issues no fiscal receipt and is not connected to the tax system. Check with the tax office or your accountant what the rules are in your case.

Can I just take the cheapest plan?

A cheap plan usually hides a limit, and it makes itself felt quickly. Optimo Basic allows up to 500 products, REGOS Start gives 1 warehouse, 1 web till and 2 users, PosPoint Start one workstation and YesPOS Standard a single till. So look not at the price but at the limit you personally will hit.

Is there a free program?

Yes, but with limits. MoySklad’s Free plan has no time limit but is capped at 5 users, 1 legal entity and 100 products, counterparties and documents — in a real shop that runs out fast. Loyverse’s core POS is free too, but its site says nothing about Uzbekistan, the som or the Uzbek tax system. BuySale has no permanently free plan, only a 7-day trial.

Is a phone app enough for a real shop?

In a shop run by the owner or one or two sellers, yes. The phone camera reads barcodes, no computer or separate scanner is needed and the hardware cost disappears. But if your queue moves very fast, or you need paper on every sale, test that in your own shop during the trial — that is the only place you will get the answer.

How do I move my product list into a new program?

This is the most hidden cost in the whole choice. There are three routes: import from Excel or CSV, picking from a ready-made catalogue, and adding by barcode. Ask each vendor in advance which of these they have. BuySale has no Excel or CSV import — items come from the catalogue, from scanning a code or from a photo of the label; an Excel export of stock is available.

Will my data be deleted if I stop paying?

You need to ask each vendor separately, because the answers differ. In BuySale a warning arrives in Telegram a few days before the balance runs out; at zero or negative balance new sales and goods-in are not recorded, but nothing is charged for those days and your data stays put — both the old records and the top-up screen remain open. There is one exception: if for 6 months after the service stops there is no top-up and no sign-in, the public offer allows the account to be deleted together with its data — you are warned in Telegram at least 30 days before, and signing in or topping up in that time cancels it.

I have several shops — what should I look at?

At two things: how much each extra point of sale costs, and whether you can see all branches in one report. BILLZ lists 179,000 UZS per extra point, Optimo 100,000 UZS and UMAG 92,000 UZS, while the mDokon plan is counted per point of sale. In BuySale a second shop opens as a branch on the same account with one shared balance — each open branch adds 6 630 UZS a day; there is no in-app report that puts all branches on one screen (the combined total comes in the evening Telegram report).

Can I trust this page — it was written by BuySale?

A fair question. That is why every figure carries a source and a checked date, and why everything about competitors comes only from their own official sites rather than from review articles. We have also written our own limitations openly and set out when you should choose somebody else. Even so, open the sites yourself — ours and theirs.
